Sky Apartments, Malaysia

The building form of the 46 storey landmark tower has evolved from the incorporation into the design of a number of passive green design technologies. The form and orientation of the tower is arranged to minimise solar radiation and thus heat gain into the building. Openings at 120 degree angles contain triple height sky gardens that allow natural light to penetrate the building throughout the day whilst capturing breezes (regardless of direction) to naturally ventilate the building. The same openings offer views out of the circulation area into the wider context to orientate the residents whilst moving through these spaces.

Photovoltaic louvre panels located at the upper levels shade the communal facilities (gym, spa, cafe and viewing deck) whilst producing sufficient electricity to power all of the landlord's services throughout the residential tower.
